Terms of Use

Plain-English summary: Use the app responsibly. Always keep an independent backup of your contacts (iCloud or otherwise) before using merge or delete features. The Pro unlock is a one-time purchase — no subscriptions. We are not liable for data loss.

1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, or using Contacts Cleaners ("the app"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not download or use the app.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and MKB BID ("we," "us," or "our"), the developer of Contacts Cleaners. These Terms are separate from and in addition to Apple's standard End User License Agreement (EULA) for App Store applications, which also applies.

2. License grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the app on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial purposes, and as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.

This license does not include the right to: sublicense, sell, resell, or commercially exploit the app; copy or adapt the app's code; reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the app; or use the app to build a competing product.

3. In-app purchases — Pro unlock

Contacts Cleaners offers a single non-consumable in-app purchase: the Pro Unlock, priced at $2.99 USD (or local equivalent). This is a one-time payment — not a subscription. Once purchased:

Pro features are permanently unlocked on all devices signed into the same Apple ID.
You may restore your purchase at no additional charge by tapping Settings → Restore Purchases.
The purchase is non-refundable except as required by applicable law or Apple's refund policy.

All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not handle, store, or have access to your payment details. Refund requests must be directed to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

4. Your contacts data — important

⚠️ Please read this section carefully. Contacts Cleaners performs real, permanent modifications to your iOS contact database when you use merge, delete, or clean features.

Before using any merge or delete feature, we strongly recommend maintaining an independent backup of your contacts through one or more of the following:

iCloud Contacts (enabled in iOS Settings)
A manual export via the iOS Contacts app or your Mac
Google Contacts or another synced account

While the app creates a local backup before every destructive operation and provides an undo feature, these mechanisms are provided as a courtesy and may not cover every failure scenario, including device failure, iOS bugs, or third-party sync conflicts.

You assume full responsibility for your contact data. We are not liable for any data loss, corruption, unintended merges, or unintended deletions resulting from your use of the app, regardless of cause.

5. Acceptable use

You agree to use the app only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

Use the app to process contacts belonging to others without their knowledge or consent
Attempt to circumvent any app purchase verification, license check, or paywall mechanism
Use any automated tool, script, or method to interact with the app
Use the app in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair our services or reputation
Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation

6. Intellectual property

The app, including its code, design, graphics, text, and all other content, is owned by MKB BID and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership rights to you. The Contacts Cleaners name, logo, and app icon are proprietary to MKB BID.

7. Third-party services

The app integrates with Apple's iOS Contacts framework and Apple's StoreKit for purchases. Use of these services is governed by Apple's terms and policies, not ours. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of any third-party service.

Our website may contain links to third-party sites. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that: (a) the app will meet your requirements; (b) the app will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free; (c) any errors in the app will be corrected; or (d) duplicate detection results will be 100% accurate. Contact deduplication involves heuristic matching and may produce false positives or false negatives. You are responsible for reviewing all suggested merges before confirming them.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL MKB BID, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Our total cumulative liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or the app shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Pro Unlock (if any), or $5.00 USD, whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless MKB BID and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) your use of the app; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party rights, including without limitation any intellectual property or privacy rights.

11. App Store additional terms

Your use of the app is also subject to Apple's App Store Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and Apple's terms, Apple's terms shall prevail with respect to matters within Apple's purview (purchases, distribution, etc.). Apple is not a party to these Terms and has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the app at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms. Upon termination, your license to use the app is revoked. Sections 6, 8, 9, 10, and 13 survive termination.

13. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which MKB BID operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the app shall first be addressed by contacting us at support@contactscleaners.com. We will make a good-faith effort to resolve disputes informally.

If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration, and not in a class action, class arbitration, or representative proceeding. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

14. Changes to these Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where practicable, provide notice within the app. Your continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the app.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

16. Entire agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Apple's App Store Terms of Service, constitute the entire agreement between you and MKB BID with respect to the app and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
